Long Roofing® is a family business with strong roots in the Washington, D.C. community. Both Long Roofing and its parent brand, Long Fence and Home®, are committed to improving the lives of both families throughout the capital region and our new friends in cities up and down the East Coast.
We are deeply involved in several charitable and community-based organizations; we’d like to share some information about these groups with you, and invite you to support these and other programs where you live.
Bo’s Effort was founded in 2015, by John, Jill, Katie and Johnny DePaola, in honor of their son and brother Bo DePaola, who passed away on May 23, 2015. He was 20 years old.
Bo was diagnosed with bipolar disorder as a 19-year-old. Mental illness comes with so many stigmas that people rarely talk about their experiences around it, and almost never in a positive light. Mental illness is categorized by judgment, shame, misunderstanding, confusion and a lot of gray areas.
This is what Bo’s Effort aims to change. We want to band together to assemble community resources to break the stigma of mental illness through education and guidance.
The Decorate A Vet program assists Northern Virginia veterans who need help with home repairs, beautification and decorations during the holiday season. We are proud to help serve those who served our country.

These families pay as much of their heating and utility bills as possible, and the Fuel Fund of Maryland steps in to both pay the remainder when necessary and to direct these families to government programs that can provide long-term solutions.
Jump Rope For Heart is sponsored by the American Heart Association and the Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE). The goal of the program is to raise funds for important AHA initiatives while promoting exercise, healthy choices and community involvement, especially among young people.
